Ho Do I: SHOUTcast on demand

Before you start uploading your mp3 files, you must follow these steps when encoding your mp3 files.

When creating music files for your On demand service you must to follow these rules:
1. all your files must be in mp3 format
2. all your files must be encoded with a sample rate of 44100
3. all your files must be encoded at the bitrate you lease with us.

If these steps are not followed then your station will not work correctly.

Now your ready to start uploading your mp3 files to the Basic DJ server. To do this, please follow the instructions below:

FTP host: your-server-name.com.
FTP port: 21
FTP username and password that is emailed to you in your welcome email..

Once logged in, you may upload your MP3 files to
www/scp/files/ondemand

This is where you put the MP3 files you would like to be available.

When Listening
Now the users should be able to connect to your "on demand" MP3 files you can do this from going to your Server URL (it will look something like htp://8000.doc.mediaserv1.com). Shoutcast uses how a browser identifies itself to determine to show the MP3 or not, this is to protect copyrighted files (in theory).
